Hike and Day of Service: Invasive Removal at Redwood Regional Park in Oakland

July 13, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Join WEN for a morning of ecological remediation in Redwood Regional Park in Oakland. We’ll have a fun and productive morning in the shadow of towering redwoods—meet WEN board members, visit with other members and guests, and do good by clearing invasive French Broom from the park’s native habitat.

Please meet us at the Redwood Bowl Parking Lot (near Chabot Space and Science Center) by 9am, followed by a 20-minute hike to a nearby trail where we’ll remove invasive vegetation under the guidance of East Bay Regional Park staff.

Tools and snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own gloves. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes, as well as long pants and sleeves. And remember to apply sunscreen and bring along your refillable water bottle!

Half way through our task we’ll take a refreshment and chat break, then finish up our remediation work around noon.

There is no reception in the park, so please be sure to be on time at the correct location.

We’d love to see you at beautiful Redwood Regional Park; reserve your spot today!
