    Senior Consultant, Contra Costa County Climate Leaders

    Hailing from Bear Valley, California, Julia became a WEN member in 2013 and joined the board in 2015. She is passionate about the environment, education and culture. She studied and taught abroad for 10 years. She is a published author and has written articles and blogs for the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC. She worked for the City of Arcata’s Environmental Services Department for three years where she assisted in multiple aspects of wetland restoration, coordinated environmental outreach and educational events, in addition to serving on the Solid Waste Task Force. She is currently a Senior Consultant for Contra Costa County Climate Leaders, where she trains junior consultants, writes grants, manages social media and speaks about sustainability issues at City Council Meetings and Mayor’s Conferences in Contra Costa County. She holds an MA in Diplomacy from Norwich University in Vermont and a BS in Environmental Science from Humboldt State University in California. She enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, hiking and meeting new people.
